Girls Bathroom Part 3
Back again with the girls bathroom! We are finally in the home stretch. The next thing I focused on was the subway tile backsplash.
For the back portion of the tiling I used a tile mat. To use a tile mat you simply remove the paper backing and place it on the wall. Then remove the paper on the front and stick the tiles directly on the mat. Then you grout and your project is complete. For the side wall I went with a more traditional mortar process then grouted when cured. This took just over half an hour to lay the tiles and under an hour to grout.

Then we sealed the gap between the counter and tile bottom using a waterproof bath sealant. I caulked the top and sides of the tile for a finished look. Next I put up the new shower curtain and declared the job complete.
Cost Breakdown
- Cost brought forward from previous post $344
- Subway Tile $Free
- Tile Adhesive $Free
- Tile Mat $Free

Grand total for the complete bathroom renovation top to bottom just $376!
For under $400 I gave this outdated bathroom a brand new look. It feels fresh and clean and most importantly the biggest critic of all, my 4 year old, is in love with it!
