DIY Candy Santa’s Sleighs Gift for a Crowd
Making Santa sleighs has become one of my favorite Christmas traditions. Me and my girls hand these out to everyone at my husbands work and everyone seems to get a kick out of it. Especially my girls! They love seeing people’s reactions to something we’ve hand-made. It teaches them the joy gift-GIVING can bring. And that Christmas is about giving to others! Even if it is just candy! These sleighs are super easy to make and cost around $2/sleigh. Making this an easy, quick, cheap gift for a crowd that is sure to please!
Materials you’ll need to make this quick and cheap gift for a crowd:
- Full size candy bars or theatre boxed candy(typically $1 each)
- Hersheys Miniature Chocolates
- Candy Canes
- Chocolate Santas
- Glue Dots
- Tape
- Ribbon
For EACH sleigh you will need 1 box of candy, 10 miniature chocolates, 2 candy canes, and 1 chocolate Santa.
Step 1: Collect
Start gathering your materials and selecting your 10 miniature chocolates. There are 4 different types of chocolate in the hersheys bag. I do 4 of one kind, 3 of another, 2 of the 3rd, and the last type is used on top.
Step 2: Chocolate!
Place one glue dot on the bottom of each chocolate and stick to the boxed candy. The first row will consist of 4 chocolates.
Step 3
Then move on to the second row of 3 chocolates staggering them between the bottom row.
Step 4
Next is your third row of 2 chocolates. Stagger these between the 2nd row.
Step 5
Finally, you have your forth row. This will be the last piece of chocolate staggered on top of the 3rd row.
Step 6: Add Ribbon to Your Sleighs
Next I add the ribbon. This helps hold the chocolate in place if the glue dots fail to hold and adds a nice decorative touch.
Step 7
Once the chocolates are secured I flip the sleigh over and add one candy cane to either side and secure with tape. This creates the bottom “runners” of the sleigh.
Step 8: Enjoy Gifting Your Santa Sleighs
Finally add your chocolate Santa using 1 glue dot securing him to the ribbon.
And there’s your final product! A quick, easy, cheap gift for a crowd! Make as many or as few as you need and be sure to enjoy your left over materials! You earned it!😉
