Installing Tongue and Groove Shiplap
Hello again! We are back at mommas house to add some more character to her builder grade home. If you caught my last project here I partnered with Airstone to add a high-end custom look to her builder grade fireplace. A new stone facade complimented by a rustic wood beam mantle added so much warmth to her her living room! The next step was adding warmth to her adjoining kitchen! My mom loves the character in older homes and desperately wants to bring some of that character to a new build! With an open concept living room/kitchen space, cohesiveness is so important! We decided adding stained tongue and groove to…

How to Upgrade Wire to Wooden Pantry Shelves
And……. I’m back at my mommas! So if you haven’t figured out, one of my favorite things to do is renovate spaces for others! Check out her stair renovation here! Or check out her laundry closet makeover here! With mothers day just around the corner, I knew I wanted to redo a space for my mom! One of the areas she has been complaining about the most is her pantry! She hates the wire shelving that came with the house and wanted something more rustic and easier to keep organized. So I figured because this was something I could accomplish in one day, it’s the perfect mothers day DIY gift!…

How To DIY an Indoor Kids Playhouse Cheap
Our girls(mainly our 5 year old) has been begging for a playhouse for a long time! So we decided this Christmas was the year! We set out to find the perfect kids playhouse! I wanted something cute and farmhousey that’d be girly but also match our home! We planned on putting this house in our FRONT yard because we have 4 dogs, 8 chickens, and a pot-belly pig that use our backyard to roam daily. Because it’d be in front of our house it was important to me that it would have curb appeal! Choosing a Kids Playhouse If you are looking for the perfect kids playhouse think about the…

Kitchen Faucet Upgrade
I’ve always been a big believer that small changes can make dramatic differences. When we first bought our home I knew the style wasn’t quite my taste but I knew with some creativity and vision I could get this place to where I wanted it. I could make it OUR home. If you’ve been follow along you’ve seen all the progress weve made so far on our kitchen including our kitchen island makeover. I was so in love with all the farmhouse charm we had added with the lights, cabinet pulls, and wood detailing and paint, but it still felt like it was missing something. This brushed nickel faucet was…

Popcorn No More
Popcorn ceilings. I loathe them. They create horrendous dark shadows and make rooms feel so dark and dingy and old! I made it my personal mission to hand scrape, sand, and paint our popcorn ceilings. So how’s it going you may wonder? Take a look! So far I under took the hallway that leads to the girls bedrooms and the area in front of the coat closet. I also did the hallway in front of the laundry room and most recently tackled my biggest room yet, the kitchen! Was it worth it? 100% yes. Is this labor intensive? 100% yes. I will not sugar coat the process. It is messy…

Kitchen Island Makeover
When we first moved into our home our kitchen had been recently updated. The old owners moved the refrigerator to open up the dining area and add some open shelving. They also opted for new white with grey flake quartz counter-tops and a large single basin stainless steel sink with matching brushed nickel faucet and cabinet pulls. However, brushed nickel isn’t really our style. These were the cabinet pulls when we moved in. And these are the cabinet pulls I immediately changed them to. So much better! I love the large pulls for the drawers and round knobs for the cabinet pulls together! But we were still left with this…
