Little Girls Room Floor to Ceiling Transformation
When we purchased our home we thought the first floor space was a good fit for us. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main level and tons of extra space in the basement, we figured everyone would have their space. But when we decided we wanted to grow our family we knew that would mean putting a little in the basement(uh no!) Or bunking our 2 oldest together! Luckily our secondary bedrooms are large and can accommodate 2 beds. So when we found out we were expecting again I started planning a joint little girls room fit for sisters. I wanted a cute feminine little girls room that…

One Year in and We’re Not Stopping
We are finally here. This is a post that I have been looking forward to for a very very long time! We have OFFICALLY been in our home for 1 whole year! We moved into this house just 5 short days before Christmas with no time to decorate. I could not wait to decorate for Christmas this year! Over the past year we have accomplished so much. I am so proud of all of the progress we have made. This house is feeling more and more like a home with each project completion. So without further ado, I give you a side by side comparison of what our house looks…

Where Will Our Guests Sleep!?
We finally took on the task of renovating the basement! And with company coming in one week we needed a guest room in a hurry. Thank you 2 day delivery!! We ordered a queen sized bed off wayfair and set it up! Next, we got the mattress in from Walmart. Then we were gifted this cute dresser and a sewing cabinet from some AMAZING friends! I decided she needed a coat of black chalk paint and some new drawer pulls. We placed the dresser cady corner and used the sewing cabinet as a nightstand. Then added some decorative touches. I placed some extra towels in a basket on top of…

If you remember this is what I started with. I removed the flowers and moss sheet and was left with this After removing the sicky adhesive I was ready to paint! I covered the mirror with 3m tape and brown paper. I gave it 3 coats of eclipse milk paint and heres the final result! I am so happy with how this turned out! It was the perfect FREE peice to finish up our guest room! I love working…

Adhesive Removal
Pre-adhesive backed decor items can be a game changer for the do-it-yourselfer. We had this mirror that sat in the garage for months. We weren’t kind to her and when I finally decided I wanted to hang it in the nursery I noticed a few dings on the top of the frame! So instead of repairing and painting it, I decided I was gonna make it girly and cute while covering those ugly scuffs. I used adhesive backed moss and hot glued flowers to the top of it! It made a super cute girly frame for a mirror that never got hung! Super cute right?! Well just over a year…

Girls Bathroom Part 3
Back again with the girls bathroom! We are finally in the home stretch. The next thing I focused on was the subway tile backsplash. For the back portion of the tiling I used a tile mat. To use a tile mat you simply remove the paper backing and place it on the wall. Then remove the paper on the front and stick the tiles directly on the mat. Then you grout and your project is complete. For the side wall I went with a more traditional mortar process then grouted when cured. This took just over half an hour to lay the tiles and under an hour to grout. Disclaimer:…

Girls Bathroom Part 2
Hello again! Today we continue on the girls bathroom reno! For the next part of the bathroom budget remodel, I focused on the flooring and mirror. If you remember from my previous post, this is what we started with. Disclaimer: In order to continually bring you the best DIYs I can, I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post at no cost to you! Thanks for being here supporting Big Brick Beauty! It may be hard to see in that photo but the tile has an almost salmon pink hue to it! Super outdated. And we had a typical builder-grade frameless mirror. It lacked style and character.…
