We Painted Our Brick House
We did it! We took the leap and painted our brick house white! I still can not believe it! While this is NOT the finished product, I could not wait to share it with everyone! This is our home pre-paint!
And this is our home after!
I love it so much! We used Behr Elastomeric Paint. It applied so evenly and smoothly with the paint sprayer. We were really impressed! Painting the entire front took one day but, we did begin prepping the night before.
First, we removed the shutters. Just by completing this step I felt a huge shift. I felt like the deep red of the brick with the navy blue shutters gave our home a dated, traditional look. I was looking for a more modern farmhouse look.
So much better with just the shutters gone right?! Next, we gave the house a good pressure wash to get any loose dirt and grime off.
After waiting 24 hours for the house to dry, we began! We used a paint sprayer and a masonry brush for the more cramped spaces!
This is just the FIRST coat! We plan to do at least one more if not 2 more coats. We wanted a solid white color but there are some variations with one coat. We have lots of plans for what’s coming next (there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Am I right?!) Be sure to check back with us over the next coming weeks to see the progress! I will give you a hint **wood details and landscaping**😍😍
