    We built a fence!

When we bought our home, one of the things I loved most was the land. Our home is situated on almost 6 acres and although most of it is wooded, we have decent sized backyard. The only downfall was that there was no fence yet. With 3 dogs at the time we knew we’d have to get a fence up ASAP. We bought a 10×10 dog kennel as a temporary safe place for the pig to be but we knew he needed his own pen. When we added a 4th mutt to the mix I started calling around for quotes. We needed around 375 linear feet of fencing and we…

    Mirror Makeover

Yesterday I posted about the adhesive removal on an old mirror frame we had lying around and today I finally finished painting the frame hung it up in our guest room! Adhesive Removal

Pre-adhesive backed decor items can be a game changer for the do-it-yourselfer. We had this mirror that sat in the garage for months. We weren’t kind to her and when I finally decided I wanted to hang it in the nursery I noticed a few dings on the top of the frame! So instead of repairing and painting it, I decided I was gonna make it girly and cute while covering those ugly scuffs. I used adhesive backed moss and hot glued flowers to the top of it! It made a super cute girly frame for a mirror that never got hung! Super cute right?! Well just over a year…

    Popcorn No More

Popcorn ceilings. I loathe them. They create horrendous dark shadows and make rooms feel so dark and dingy and old! I made it my personal mission to hand scrape, sand, and paint our popcorn ceilings. So how’s it going you may wonder? Take a look! So far I under took the hallway that leads to the girls bedrooms and the area in front of the coat closet. I also did the hallway in front of the laundry room and most recently tackled my biggest room yet, the kitchen! Was it worth it? 100% yes. Is this labor intensive? 100% yes. I will not sugar coat the process. It is messy…

    DIY Photo Signs

Hello again! Today I give you a DIY project that’s super simple and inexpensive to do! I searched for the perfect signs to hang over the nightstands in our bedroom and when I couldnt find anything I liked but a quote, I decided to make our own. I grabbed to large peices of plywood we had left over in our scrap pile and my husband used the blow torch to burn them. You could also stain or paint them to match any decor style! I then used my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut a vinyl stencil for my quote. I placed it on the wood and used a simple white…
