    Installing Tongue and Groove Shiplap

Hello again! We are back at mommas house to add some more character to her builder grade home. If you caught my last project here I partnered with Airstone to add a high-end custom look to her builder grade fireplace. A new stone facade complimented by a rustic wood beam mantle added so much warmth to her her living room! The next step was adding warmth to her adjoining kitchen! My mom loves the character in older homes and desperately wants to bring some of that character to a new build! With an open concept living room/kitchen space, cohesiveness is so important! We decided adding stained tongue and groove to…

Sweet Neutral Nursery Reno for a Sweet Baby Girl

When I found out we were expecting ANOTHER little girl, I immediately started planning the nursery! I knew I wanted something calming and serene. Somewhere I could go and snuggle this sweet baby and be able to just relax and feel cozy. After doing my little girls room in pink I knew I didn’t want another pink room but I did want to add a touch of something girly. I ended up with a neutral baby girls nursery with greige walls, a sage green accent wall, and pops of pink for a feminine feel. I started the room makeover by creating a fresh slate and removed everything from the room…

We Created a Linen Closet Out of Nothing!

Let me start out by saying we have ZERO linen closets in our home. Zero. Zippo. Zilcho. Nada. None! In the whole house! Upstairs or down in the basement. None. This was one of the things that irked me most in our home. Where do you put the towels and sheets and blankets!? Well most of it ended up in our closet. And for the girls bathroom we shoved them under the vanity. Was it the ideal situation? No. Did the towels get soaking wet when we had a random leak from the sink drain? You betcha! But we made it work. We didn’t have a choice. And one day…

Little Girls Room Floor to Ceiling Transformation

When we purchased our home we thought the first floor space was a good fit for us. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main level and tons of extra space in the basement, we figured everyone would have their space. But when we decided we wanted to grow our family we knew that would mean putting a little in the basement(uh no!) Or bunking our 2 oldest together! Luckily our secondary bedrooms are large and can accommodate 2 beds. So when we found out we were expecting again I started planning a joint little girls room fit for sisters. I wanted a cute feminine little girls room that…

Quick and Inexpensive Dining Room Makeover Phase 1

When we first looked at our home I really loved our dining room. It is separate from the living space which created an intimate space for family meals. It already had a chair rail, beautiful crown molding, and picture perfect *almost* floor to ceiling windows and I knew a quick and inexpensive dining room makeover was all it needed to be perfect for us! Here’s the canvas we had to work with One of the very first things I did when we moved was change the light fixure to this beauty. And I loved it! It worked for a while. But slowly I got bored with the room. It still…

Our Dog Inspired Master Bedroom Makeover

We finally took a much needed leap in our master! Now, I’d love to say it’s because I’m spontaneous like that or because I just love making content or even because it was the next project on the to do list (and everyone knows how much I like checking things off my to do list). This master bedroom makeover was so lovingly inspired by our pup! This handsome fella is Beast! He is a sweet 2 year old Great Pyrenees and he was the daddy to our last litter of puppies! He is normally a sweet well-behaved little boy who is silly and playful but calm and well mannered. Until…

One Year in and We’re Not Stopping

We are finally here. This is a post that I have been looking forward to for a very very long time! We have OFFICALLY been in our home for 1 whole year! We moved into this house just 5 short days before Christmas with no time to decorate. I could not wait to decorate for Christmas this year! Over the past year we have accomplished so much. I am so proud of all of the progress we have made. This house is feeling more and more like a home with each project completion. So without further ado, I give you a side by side comparison of what our house looks…

    Basement Wall Demo Part 3

Here we are! Back at it again! We finally finished removing the 2 main non-loadbearing walls! If you missed the first 2 installments you can check Part 1 out here and Part 2 out here. We started with main area that lead to 2 closets and a bedroom. We removed the walls to get rid of the 3 separate spaces to create 1 large open entertaining space. Check it out below! So much better! It’s one long open entertaining space that will soon house a pool table, bar, and table. Behind the wall to the right, this is the load-bearing wall that will be removed, will be our couch and…

    Laundry Room Reno

I finally tackled our laundry room!! This room has given me grief since we moved in. I’ve always wanted a huge pinterest worthy laundry room! I had crazy dreams that included a large mudroom space and doggy shower. And when we moved into this home I knew I was not going to attain those dreams here. But that didnt meant I couldnt dress up the space that I DID have! So this is what we began with. Cream walls. White cabinets. White porcelain pulls. Door that opens inward. Popcorn ceiling. Linoleum floors. And this wonderful little pop out that has the ac intake on the otherside(aka not removable!) My first…

    Basement Wall Demo Part 2

We’ve made some more progress on the basement wall demo! This is the wall we had our sights set on next. We grabbed the hammer and started swinging away and before we knew it this is what we were left with! Slowly but surely we are getting there! The next big task for this room? Clean up. Once we get all the debris out of the room the non-load bearing walls can come down. Then we will have to get a contractor to come out and install an LVL beam for the wall that is bearing the load! Stay tuned for more basement progress and some other projects as well!
